Colorado Prison Museum
OK, it’s a little creepy in a "Discovery Channel-ish" kind of way. But if you want to see a real (used) gas chamber, or the last noose used in a Colorado judicial hanging, it’s here. The museum is housed in a cell block from a decommissioned women’s prison. Oh, and Alferd Packer, the infamous “Colorado Cannibal”, well, his cell is here too. 201 North 1st Street in Cañon City.
