The Owl Cigar Store

Except it’s not a cigar store, it’s an american diner. It WAS a cigar store until the mid-90s, when it was converted. Behind the bar is a sportsman’s calendar from November 1951, and that’s pretty much when time stopped here. There’s ancient taxidermy of huge trout, deer heads, and owls, and vintage posters and photos. There’s a jukebox in front and pool tables in the back. The menu is basic -- burgers, a variety of egg sandwiches, and malts. Cheap, good food, time-machine ambiance. Located downtown at 626 Main Street in Cañon City.
