Royal Gorge Travel

Things to do. Where to Start!

Drive the Gold Belt Tour and retrace the historic travel routes connecting Cripple Creek and Victor Mining District, site of the world’s largest gold rush, to the communities of Florence, Cañon City and Florissant.

Or you can experience the thrill of zipping through the air on the nations latest craze, Zip Line Tours.  With several Zip Line Tours offered in Fremont County you can chose from mild to wild and even an Extreme Zip Line course.  Or is you can even zip along the rim of the Royal Gorge on the latest Royal Gorge Bridge and Park's "Soaring Eagle". You can visit museums, see prehistoric tracks, walk discovery trails and even search for fossils. A great family activity, kids and parents can learn about dinosaurs and other animals and plants that lived here when the area was in the tropics or covered by inland seas.

In the mood for some serious adventure? Rafts and kayaks of every size float the beautiful Arkansas River Canyon spring through summer. Some anglers fish from rafts, some enjoy a thrilling ride through the rapids from Texas Creek to Parkdale and even through the Gorge, especially when the river flow may be too swift for good fishing.  Maybe you would like to ride the trails on a 4-wheeler or side by side, that can be done at Texas Creek and it's fun for the whole family.

Whatever your choice for recreation, whether it be indoors or out, the Royal Gorge Region can provide exhilarating activities and lifelong memories.
